Our story
African Forum for Social Theater
The forum was launched in 2017 in Casablanca, with the participation of representatives from six countries in North and West Africa. It is a forum that brings together practitioners of social theatre in the African continent, facilitating communication among them. The forum serves as a space for resource gathering and sharing, a platform for shared learning, and creates a dynamic system that develops artistic practices originating from community environments, in collaboration with stakeholders, to contribute to a more just and equal society.
The forum works on networking programs, capacity building, collaborative production, research, advocacy, and promoting innovation. It explores avenues for shared funding sources.
